What's involved with coaching?
A coaching session is a conversation that lasts on average 45 to 60 minutes but can be longer, depending on your needs.
The initial session is usually longer than follow-up sessions because it is often used as an opportunity for us to get to know each other and to get some details about you. Further sessions might begin with our agreeing a target outcome to be reached by the end of the conversation and the sessions usually end with giving you something to complete before the next session, based around options to move forward that you have chosen. However, our style of coaching is flexible and we will work together to design an aliance that best suits your needs.
Do you offer coaching in my location?
Our style of coaching does not depend on a common geographic location, we can coach anyone in the UK and in Europe. It can be either face to face, on the telephone or using Skype.
How long will I need to be coached?
Every client is different and the comlexity of a client's needs are many and varied. We have coached some people in under 30 minutes others have taken many months, so it is impossible to say how long an individual will need. However, we promise never to continue coaching when we know that you no longer need it.
We encourage clients to have 2 sessions a month over an initial 3 month period and then have further sessions as required.

How To Choose A Coach
-
Interview several and have sample sessions. You want to make sure you have a rapport with your coach and can have the basis for respect and trust. Ask for a sample session. Ask for references. And at the end, trust your "gut" feeling in this process.
-
Know what you want in a coach. Do you have a male or female, or age preference for your coach? Are there specific personal styles that you are drawn to? To the extent you can articulate clearly what you are looking for, you can find your match faster.
-
Know what outcomes you seek. Do you want to focus on your career, your relationships, your work/life balance, or something more specific? Although CTI Co-Active coaches are rigorously trained to handle all these areas, coaches do have specialised content knowledge (niches) that would generate additional value if matched with your specific needs.
-
Know what you need. Coaching is not therapy. Make sure you understand the difference between the two and are really seeking the right venue for your needs.
